Bridging the Gender Gap in Financial Literacy

Table of content

A new EU-funded initiative through Erasmus+, FEMpower in Finance, seeks to bridge financial literacy gaps and empower women to achieve long-term financial independence. Led by a dedicated consortium from Germany, Ireland, Cyprus and Netherlands, the project aims to provide women with essential financial knowledge and skills, tackling the heightened risk of poverty they face, especially in later life, as a result of persistent economic inequalities.

This groundbreaking initiative focuses on building women’s confidence in making informed financial decisions, raising awareness of retirement planning and wealth accumulation strategies, and promoting gender-inclusive financial education.

Through collaborative efforts, FEMpower in Finance will develop accessible educational tools, a structured curriculum, and a dedicated knowledge hub. These resources will support adult educators and foster meaningful peer-to-peer engagement, ensuring a lasting impact on financial empowerment.

By providing women with the tools they need to secure their financial future, FEMpower in Finance is taking a vital step toward greater economic equality.
